ABOUT RAYMOND LOTTA | RESOURCES | POINT/COUNTERPOINT | SOCIALIST EXPERIENCE | COMMUNISM'S FUTURE POINT/COUNTERPOINT TWO RECENT DEBATES In 2009 there were lively exchanges on several campuses that were part of the “Raymond Lotta Campus Tour” sponsored by Revolution Books. The speech was titled “Everything You’ve Been Told about Communism Is Wrong: Capitalism is a Failure, Revolution is the Solution,” and spurred ongoing controversy in student newspapers at New York University and University of Chicago. The first point/counterpoint is an opinion published in the Washington Square News, Communism: Far from a Utopia Ideal, and a response by Raymond Lotta, Marxist Scholar Responds to WSN Column. The second is an article that appeared in the Chicago Weekly, a U of C student newspaper, and the response by Raymond Lotta on “Communism, Stalin, and Historical Accuracy.” Both are reprinted here.
